***********ATTENTION PARENTS OF LEAGUE AGE 8 AND 9 YEAR OLD BASEBALL PLAYERS***********
We are going to have the Fall Ball program again this year. For those of you not familiar, it is a skill development/minor league prep program for this year’s league age 8 and league age 9 year old baseball players.
The program will take place on Wednesday and Sunday evenings from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. starting on Sunday, July 23rd and running through Wednesday, September 13th.
The first 4 sessions will consist of skill assessment in 6 areas:
- Pitching
- Hitting
- Infield
- Outfield
- Catcher
- First Base
The purpose of the assessment is to identify skills that need attention and to create balanced teams. Once the assessments are complete, the players will be assigned to teams. The teams will then play games against each other on Way Memorial Field and Heindl Field every Wednesday and Sunday evening thru the completion of the program.
If your player is league age 8 and moving into Minor League next year or is a league age 9 returning to Minor League, we encourage you to sign them up. This is an excellent opportunity for them to get better, be exposed to various coaches, and play with teammates they may have not played with before.
We also welcome any parents that would like to coach and be a part of the program. We would like a minimum of 12 coaches to participate. There is no coach “cap”. All are welcome. Once everyone is signed up and the coaches are registered, we will plan on having a meeting the week of July 16th-July 22nd in order to organize our approach.
