Coronavirus Update [UPDATED]

[05-29-20 Update]

Good morning and I hope all is well:

As we all know, Clearfield county is moving to the green phase under the direction of the governor’s office today. We would like to let everybody know that we were doing everything possible to get our kids back on the playing field.

We have attached a video that we would like everyone to watch (It is a 40 minute video, but very informational).  This video will enable you to understand some of the guidelines,  regulations, and hurdles that we as a league need to follow, per Little League International, to make sure that we are keeping our kids and community healthy and safe. We are making every effort to abide by these rules.  We have reached out to city and county officials, other area Little Leagues, and contacted the governor's office to try to find out when and if we can make this happen.

We would love nothing more than to see a city park thriving again with kids doing what they want to do during the summer and that’s to play ball. I want to personally thank each and everyone of the parents of the baseball and softball community for being patient through this challenging time. We fully expect to make a decision by Sunday night and if everything goes well start playing games in early June with the season ending in the end of July.  Please understand that any Baseball and Softball played this season will be very different at our local park this summer as some of the rules as I mentioned before have created some challenges for us as a board. I promise you we are doing our best.

Thank you and hope to talk to you all soon!

[05-06-20 Update] Good afternoon.

I hope all is well...as we move forward through spring and into the coming summer I know there are a lot of questions being asked about what the Dubois Little League is going to do? We are trying very hard to stay the course that Little League International has laid out for us as they believe there are better things to come within the next four weeks.

We have been instructed that May 30th is the date that they are going to make a decision. I understand that this is prolonging some of the decisions and plans that you may be making as a family in your household. With the understanding that Little League has always been a part of your summer activities.

There will soon be a questionnaire emailed to you that we ask you to fill out and send back to us as we are trying to get as much information as possible of the local climate of our league.

If they give us the go to play we will try to have a local in house season with the possibility of playing some other local leagues from early June through July and possibly into the first week of August.

As many of you may already know Little League International has cancelled the World Series, regional tournaments, and sectional tournaments for All-Stars.  A decision on district level All-Star tournaments have not yet been decided, but most leagues tend to be learning towards NOT having districts as well.

If you decide not to participate in a delayed season, if one is possible, for any reason we will honor your decision, no questions asked, and refund your money.  Based on the results of the questionnaire being sent out soon, we will organize a timely and efficient refund process and get you your money as soon as we can.

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to us and we will answer your inquiries as best as possible.

Thank you and stay safe!!

[04-10-20 Update]
Good afternoon,

The DuBois Little League would just like to give a little update on where we are as a league and what we are being told from Little League International.  All league activity is still postponed until May 11th and we are preparing as though that is the date we move forward. Our Little League is always going to do locally what we believe is in the best interest for our community and our kids safety.

The subject of registration refunds came to my attention and I wanted to make sure everyone understands that we are working on a refund plan in the event that we do not play ball this year. At this point it is too early to make any decisions on that subject, but we will make it right with each family if this situation arises.

We have also been given the option to extend our regular season into August and play locally throughout our community with the All Star situation being unclear at this point.  There has always been conversation that "those fields sit empty all of July". With all this being said , the main goal for us a league is to follow the guidelines we are given and make sure we do our part with social distancing and so that we can get back to the park.

I would like to wish each and everyone of you, on behalf of the Little League family, a blessed Good Friday and a Happy Easter.

Thank you and keep safe..

President

Good morning,
Just a friendly update about this ongoing issue with coronavirus that of course is affecting the DuBois Little League as well as the rest of the country.
We are trying to follow suit with Little League International and the state of Pennsylvania but of course questions will always arise on locally what we are going to do In our community. As of right now we are focused on the May 11 date to see if we can reconvene as a league...if not we will look to Williamsport (Little League International) for direction with our ultimate plan being to have our Community back to the park playing baseball and softball but only in a safe surrounding and setting. I’ll be making a statement on the Dubois LL website and Facebook page every Friday for updates. As we get closer throughout the summer we as a league will make decisions on your registration fees that you’ve already submitted.
Thanks for your concern and be safe ..
